Hello. Do you have a minute to hear my story? My name is Regina and I was brought to the shelter after my family moved off and left me. That was lucky for me because I was pregnant. I had my kittens and raised them here at Animal Humane.

Being a mom was a lot of responsibility, but I think I did a good job. Now I'd like for someone to take me home and make me their special girl. I need to feel loved and secure. In return, I'll be your steady companion.

You may have noticed that I'm quite pretty. I'm especially proud of my eyes. Here's a secret...I'm just as pretty on the inside.

Flora is a very sweet, loving, playful young cat. She likes other cats and gets along fine with dogs that give her respect. Flora has a big PURR and likes to be brushed. She loves to lie beside you and be petted. She also likes to chase a laser light and to fetch catnip mice. She is cautious in new environments, but warms up when she knows she's loved and safe. Give her a chance and you won't regret it!

ARE YOU READY for some fun? Me too! I am fabulous at playing fetch. Throw a ball as far as you can and watch me blaze across the field to pick it up and bring it back to you! In fact, just buy one of those tennis ball launchers, take me to the dog park and you've helped me get most of my exercise done for the day! I love treats, kids, and know how to sit. Alas, my leash manners leave something to be desired (but we can work on that, right?). I am a strapping young lad in need of a committed human, lots of love, and a daily routine I can count on. My past life was filled with uncertainty and solitude. I so want to have a family!

TO NEW HOPE CATTLE DOG RESCUE IN COLORADO

Cooger is my name and lovin’ is my game. In human years, I’d be a middle-aged baby boomer. You got it – young and hip! And at this great age, I know my potty manners and that pulling on a leash is just not nice. I’m not too big and not too small—I’m just right—with fluffy soft auburn fur begging for petting and hugging. I’m a friendly guy with a waggin’ tail hoping and looking for a nice home with or without some kids to slurp on; with or without a nice female dog pal. If you saw me in human form, I’d be the slow-talkin’, easy-walkin’ country boy donning blue jeans and a T-shirt. Please adopt me soon and love me. I’m not having a heap of fun in the shelter. I’ll thank you forever. I promise.

TO RESCUE GROUP IN COLORADO (DUMB FRIENDS LEAGUE)

My first years were spent chained to a fence, but we dogs don’t hold grudges. That’s so human! Actually, I’m a love sponge. I have plenty of energy for hikes, but I’m also happy with a good stroll. As I said, my favorite thing will be getting love and pets from you.

I’m not just a pretty face. Don’t you just love my eyes? I like lots of dogs, kids, and haven’t met any cats yet. But who knows, they may be fun.

I’ve been at Animal Humane for several months and really need the love and security of my forever home. Are you the one for me?

I am a two-year old Pit Bull mix beauty. I lost my front leg in a car accident. But, don’t shed tears for me! I’m a hearty runner and I have a strong heart and soul. I have not given up hope of finding a person who will adopt me for wonderful ME—not because they think I am in need of pity. I love to play and don’t mind other dogs who will acknowledge me as head dog. I am best known for being a real social butterfly with all humans big and small! Throw parties often? Be fit in body, mind, and heart. That would be my “motto.” I’m a big, impressive guy who enjoys a hearty work-out of walking or running, companionship and attention. I have been seriously looking for a human that believes in my “motto” too. I am also mannerly (basic obedience trained) and walk well on a leash. I’m awesome in a group of people, love to socialize, and will lick the freckles off your face if given the opportunity! I am quite handsome and intelligent, so it would be okay if you want to brag on me—because I would on YOU. I’m good with some dogs and love kids.

If you need a driving buddy I'm your dog. A car ride is one of my favorite things. If it's a hiking partner you are in need of, I'll be out there to lead the way. Have you heard about the big, black dog syndrome? Please don’t let me fall into that statistic! We get overlooked because of our dark fur, size, and energy. I’m a big guy with big energy and a GREAT attitude! I love, LOVE to hike, play tug-o-war, fetch balls, and get tummy rubs! Baby Boy is an Easy Boy with a Hard Story. He is tender-hearted, calm and low-maintenance (wow). He is house-trained and sleeping-in-bed-with-you trained. He washes kids faces free of charge and will try to act interested in playing ball. But he would rather sun-bathe! If there’s another dog who likes to sunbathe with him all the better! Ummm, felines – no. He’s a fantastic dog who, many months ago, hung on tight to life even though he was dumped at a city land fill and became some twisted person’s object for shooting practice. Physical pain and emotional torture – what a survivor. That ugly memory of his life was erased by a wonderful guardian who nurtured and loved him almost beyond compare. His best human friend’s plans fell through to buy a house for them to spend the rest of their lives together. She is weepy and sad and looking for just the right person for Baby Boy. Perhaps even with “visiting rights” . . .

You'll know it’s me when you see the Kong ball in my mouth. I want to stand out among this crowd so you can find me and visit with me! At one-year old, I'm just a teenager in dog years and just like any teenager I like to play, hang out with friends, and be loved by family. I have been known to be more interested in a person than a ball, show off my "sit" command, and give slurpy kisses. After a daily long walk, I'm a happy boy. Then I'll lay down with my head held high, cross my front legs like a little (no, big) prince and say Thank You with my big jeweled eyes. I am house and crate-trained and sociable with other dogs. I am a big guy with a huge heart who is nimble, not clumsy.
